Thanks for expressing interest in our nursery. Avalon Acres is a 10 acre hill nestled among hundreds of large red and white oak trees in south central Illinois. We are a family owned and operated nursery with the mission to bring you the highest quality plants at the lowest possible prices. We welcome visitors but please call ahead so we can dedicate quality time to you. We are here most evenings and Sundays. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule. We are open April 30 through August 25.  Please call for directions.

We use container and field growing methods for our Hostas. Our plants are either one gallon size or 2nd year tissue culture size depending on the variety. Our plants are shipped bare root, wrapped in peat moss and plastic with a color photo tag (if available). We ship on Monday morning so your plants will arrive prior to the following weekend. Please get your plants in the ground or potted immediately and water them thoroughly. Remember, Hosta are shade tolerant and do not like full afternoon sun.
